Primary Phenomena

This ongoing project explores landscape locations within the western United States through the lens of a modified c.1917 Kodak camera with 3D printed internal parts - allowing for the use of contemporary color film.

Here old an new technologies converge moving toward a union or uniformity, while light and shifting perspectives are used to disrupt the full-formation of the image, leaving it unformed as a whole - in hopes of extending the time between the first (primary) encounter with place and the processes (that follow) involved in the forming of narrative and association.
